The Politecnico di Milano promotes and co-finances the creation of interdepartmental laboratories involving many research groups from different Departments. They aim at developing and coordinating the inter-disciplinary and long-time research activities.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the cofounders of the following laboratories and takes part in the research and technology transfer activities.
