The National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP)- part of the Next Generation EU (NGEU) program - is the Italian response to the Covid-19 global emergency and to the obstacles that stopped the growth of the economic, social, and environmental national systems in the past ten years.It mobilises 750 billion euros, of which 390 in grants.
NRRP counts 16 Components grouped into 6 Missions. One of them, Mission 4, is entirely dedicated to Education and Research and is managed by MUR (Italian Ministry of University and Research).
Mission 4, Component 2 - from Research to Business - is notably dedicated to Universities and Research Institutes, with a budget of 11.44 billion euros, envisages four measures - Extended Partnerships, National Centers, Innovation Ecosystems, R&S Infrastructures - focused on two common goals: Digital Transition and Green Transition.
The broad theoretical, methodical and technological knowledge, together with the enhancement of technology transfer and appreciation of research, allowed our university to become the leader (HUB) of the National Center for Sustainable Mobility (MOST). In particular, DMEC joins as SPOKE and AFFILIATE to a conspicuous number of measures aiming at investing in young researchers and research infrastructures in partnership with enterprises over the next three years.
